Privacy Policy
How Darndest LLC handles information on this website.
The short version
This website is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and embeds no advertising or social media trackers. We don’t build a profile of you, and we don’t sell or rent personal information to anyone.
Who we are
Darndest LLC (“Darndest”, “we”, “us”) is the data controller for this website. You can reach us at hello@darndest.co or by post at 94 E 4th St, Apt 206, New York, NY 10003, United States.
Information we collect
Server logs
This site is hosted by Vercel Inc. Like any web host, Vercel records standard request information when a page is served — IP address, the page requested, timestamp, browser user agent, and referring page. These logs exist to deliver the site, keep it secure, and diagnose faults. They are retained for a short period and then deleted. See Vercel’s own privacy documentation for details of their processing.
Email you send us
If you write to us, we receive your email address, your message, and anything you choose to include in it. We keep that correspondence so we can answer you and refer back to the thread if you write again. We do not add you to a mailing list because you emailed support.
What we do not collect
- No analytics or measurement cookies.
- No advertising identifiers or retargeting pixels.
- No social media embeds or share widgets that phone home.
- No account is required, and we do not ask you to create one.
How we use information
We use the limited information described above only to operate and secure the site, and to reply to messages you send us. Our lawful basis, where the UK/EU GDPR applies, is our legitimate interest in running a functioning, secure website and responding to enquiries.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate — currently our host (Vercel) and our email provider — and only to the extent they need it to provide that service. We may also disclose information if we are legally required to do so.
Other websites
This site links to journalcast.app and other third-party sites. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for their practices. Our apps are covered by their own in-app privacy policies and App Store privacy labels, which are separate from this document.
Retention
Server logs are kept for a short period by our host and then deleted. Email correspondence is kept for as long as it is useful for support history, and deleted on request.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export the personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict our processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of under California’s CCPA/CPRA on that front.

Children
This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
We are based in the United States and our service providers process data in the United States. If you contact us from outside the US, your information will be transferred there.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted prominently on this page.
